I mentioned this last week, but I’m so excited, I can’t help but write again about the Drury Lane pop-up that Katzie and I are hosting at London Candy Co. tonight. We spent all last night rolling shortbread dough, baking spoon bread for our peach sticky toffee pudding, and piping milk chocolate cremeaux. With Bulldog gin cocktails and an Olympic medal stage for photos, it’s going to be a lot of fun. If you’re in town, we’d love to see you there!
I met Miss Katzie Guy-Hamilton what feels like ages ago, when we were both just starting to learn the ropes as “pastry monkeys” at Spago Beverly Hills. Katzie has always had that spark; she’s wildly creative, is full of great ideas, and we always have a ton of fun together. When I ventured into the world of food writing, Katzie moved to New York, first taking the pastry post at The Breslin, and then moving to the Grand Hyatt, where she whips up her whimsical, comforting desserts. And you may have caught her last year on ‘Top Chef Just Desserts’!
Our newest collaboration, Drury Lane, is all about feeding the people with good food, enriching lives with the kind of inventive dishes we love. I can’t wait for the party tonight, and to see what’s in store for the future of Drury Lane!
